What is a Mysore practice? This is how yoga was traditionally taught in Mysore India in the early 20th century. In this style all students receive personalized instruction as we work within the Ashtanga Vinyasa framework. It is like a private lesson but in a small group session. You move at your own pace through as many or as few postures as you see fit. Shawn will be on hand to assist you as needed, answering questions as you go and offering customized variations to suit your unique interests and needs to help build a mindful practice. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience. It is a particularly advantageous way for a newcomer or someone with mobility challenges to begin to learn the ins and outs of asana. It is incredibly rewarding and beneficial to have the autonomy to explore what best serves your unique anatomy. Humans are incredibly diverse and so is their yoga practice! In this class you won’t have to try to keep up with a teacher or with fellow classmates, you will work with your own unique breathing and movement rhythm.
