I first discovered yoga in 1979 at the tender age of 15. When my life veered off into low self esteem. It is my aim to clarify a deeper and compassionate connection to self, purpose, joy and inner sovereignty through the ancient practice of yoga combined with modern science.
Shemaia Skywater is a yogini with more Ethan 3 decade of yoga practice and teaching experience. She has been a student of Anusara Yoga since 2001. As well, she has spent 25 years exploring music as a healing force and regularly hosts sound healings here at the studio!
I started my journey with yoga in 2015 in Goa, India. I fell in love with Ashtanga and I’ve practiced it constantly since then. Yoga deeply healed my body and mind in a way I couldn’t ever imagine. I hope I can transmit to you my passion for yoga and help you to find fulfillment in the practice!
Suzy's yoga journey of over 20 years has woven through many different styles of yoga. In 2013, while traveling in India she completed a 200 hour teacher training studying Ashtanga Yoga. Since then she completed a 120 hour Anusara immersion here in Arcata, Ca.
Annie's Hatha-based (and Iyengar inspired) classes are appropriate for students healing from injuries, beginners, or long-time students looking to be re-inspired by the roots of their practice. They are passionate about recontextualizing yoga so it is seen as a practice that is truly for everyone.
